It had been a sort of painful week for me- being injured in a small time incident and having to let go of my bike. Also since the wound is on my foot, it is difficult to find appropriate footwear (more difficult, having to repeat the only comfortable one!)
Luckily, the wonderful workshop at work did a mighty task of helping me out!
Bring in some recycled teak wood and a super carpenter, Subramani and all was soon set.
The base of the sandal with grooves for grips below.
With a little more work sanding and shaping the profile, a few leather straps were fixed with some rubber solution and some handmade nails.
Final touches, and set to go! Form follows function? It sure does! 
It has now been christened, Ares, the Greek God of war, violence and bloodshed. Lol. It does make me look alot Biblical though
